First Sign Page

First Sign: beginning of the end

The Bible reveals seven signs which signal believers on earth that Jesus is about to return to earth. At the present time, we believe that Jesus will return soon. When these signs occur, we will know without any doubt that Jesus will return in our lifetime.
The first sign will blow your mind!
We can’t force the issue by making our own predictions and calling them signs. We must wait patiently for God’s signs while we work in His kingdom.

Book summary

The book consists of six chapters and an appendix:

  1. Seeking the Sign – godly signs have seven characteristics which benefit God’s people. He gives these signs to help us, not confuse us.
  2. Proclaiming the Gospel – Jesus predicts that the end of the age won’t come until the gospel is preached to all nations. We discover an amazing way that God completes this mission for the Church. These signs will blow your mind!
  3. Exposing the Apostasy – the Church will experience a massive loss of people in a very short period of time. True Christians may lose heart as they seen those whom they previously believed were devout followers of Christ fall away from the faith for deception and heresy. God needs to purify His Church and her beliefs before Jesus returns.
  4. Revealing the Antichrist – the antichrist is not discovered by our cleverness, but he is revealed by God after being released from the abyss. He will deceive the unsaved into thinking he is the Messiah. Only Christians will see him for his real identity.
  5. Avoiding the Abomination – Jesus’ final warning to His people (before His coming) tells us to run at the sight of the Abomination of Desolation. We learn what to look for and how to react. His command to pray that your flight is not in winter reveals something amazing about God’s will for our lives.
  6. Recognizing the End – the end of the age will lull many spiritual people into a false sense of security. We must struggle against this tendency so that we will react to Jesus’ commands to flee and resist deception.
  7. Ignoring the Unreliable – a number of popular Christian teachers over the past 80 years have postulated a number of unreliable predictions that have confused, deceived and defamed Christians. We need to learn to ignore the predictions of experts and rely entirely on God’s word.
We cannot be certain exactly when these signs will occur relative to each other or other events of the end times. I seems obvious that the gospel is preached to all nations before anything else, but we don’t have clear confirmation of that timing. Rather than put together a tight schedule, we must hold these signs loosely in our hands. No matter what the actual order, we will gain confidence from them like nothing previous generations have experienced. As these signs begin to occur, Christians on earth will know that Jesus is about to return.

The Bible remains clear about which signs indicate the soon coming of Jesus. All other predictions by experts, theologians and personalities will only lead you astray.
